Welcome to ECIGS UK
An E-cig is the new way of smoking without the side effects of smoking tobacco in the form of cigarettes. The Ecig usually takes the form of a pen like plastic device and looks like a cigarette. Smokers use the Ecig to avoid the smoking ban in countries where smoking is prohibited in public places and secondly the Ecig may be used to reduce the amount of cigarettes smoked. The Ecig has helped some smokers become non smokers. Whichever way you choose to use the Ecig, there is no denying that the Ecig is here to stay!
How does an Ecig work?
The Ecig is made up of three distinct parts; the lithium battery, the atomising chamber and a cartridge. All three elements come together to form the Ecig. The battery of an Ecig is rechargeable and most Ecig starter kits contain two batteries. Ecig batteries bear the closest resemblance to a cigarette, with the tip of the battery glowing red when the smoker draws from it. The middle of the Ecig is the atomising chamber which has the Ecig batter attached to it on one end and the liquid nicotine cartridge on the other end of the Ecig. When the smoker draws from the nicotine cartridge, the red light on the Ecig lights up and powers the atomising chamber of the Ecig. Liquid nicotine which resides in the cartridge of the Ecig is then turned into a vapour by the atomising chamber of the Ecig which then delivers the smoker nicotine in a gaseous format which is inhaled by the smoker straight into the lungs delivering nicotine to the blood stream. Water vapour is released from the atomising chamber of the Ecig and substitutes the smoke given off from a cigarette. The water vapour is odourless and does not contain any chemicals. Within the cartridge of the Ecig the liquid nicotine sits in a sponge and once the nicotine is finished the user can detach the used cartridge from the Ecig and attaches a new cartridge to the Ecig to continue smoking as before. Starter kits for an Ecig usually comprises of two batteries, a power cord and plug adaptor that can be used to recharge your battery, an atomising chamber and a mixture of cartridges in different strengths. Cartridges for the Ecig come in zero mg, low medium and high with no current standardisation of strength in mg at the moment for the Ecig industry.
Do Ecigs use tobacco?
Ecigs do not use tobacco to deliver nicotine like cigarettes do. Instead of tobacco, the Ecig delivers nicotine from a liquid stored in the cartridge which is converted by the atomising chamber of the Ecig into a gaseous form. The resultant smoke from the Ecig is water vapour and does not contain any chemicals in comparison to cigarettes containing tobacco that smokers are used to smoking.
Can you smoke Ecigs in public places?
Some countries have prevented smokers from smoking in public places and this has also led to increase in success of stop smoking campaigns. However, the Ecig is an exception to the smoking ban as it does not use tobacco to deliver nicotine to the smoker. There are an increased number of incidences where smokers have used the Ecig in public places and have been permitted to do so as more and more of the public are educated about the Ecig. The Ecig is an excellent way to enjoy smoking in public places without polluting the air for those who maybe immediately surround your Ecig. The water vapour quickly disappears when using your Ecig and does not leave any odours unlike tobacco cigarettes. The Ecig is a safe, popular and clean way to enjoy smoking in public and has been welcomed by the Pub Industry in the United Kingdom who suffered heavily due to the smoking ban.
